Role of Psychometric Tools/Personality Assessments In the Hiring Process
In today’s
marketplace it is imperative to find the right person for the right
job. Beyond behaviorally based interviews, team interviews and
reference checking, what can an employer do to ensure the best job-fit?
More and more employers are turning to personality profiles as part of
their hiring practices. Do they work? Is this a sound, ethically and
legally responsible consideration?
In “Personality Profiles as a Consideration in the Hiring Process” we
will first take a high-level view of four personality profiles in
widespread use:
- Birkman®
- Emergenetics®
- MBTI®
- DiSC®
Upon obtaining a base-line understanding of these tools, we examine the
potential obstacles profiling may present in today’s business
environment.
Learning Objectives:
-
Develop a high-level understanding of four personality profiles
currently available in the marketplace.
-
Understand potential legal limitations on the use of personality
profiles in hiring.
-
Building an employment brand that appeals to all thinking/behavioral
preferences.
-
Develop a process/flow chart for when personality profiles may or may
not be the appropriate tool.
